Why do Christians tear each other down?

I'm totally amazed at how Christians tear each other apart by criticizing each other's work.  I know they 'mean well' but they don't realize that the enemy is busy working through them to bring another Christian or their work, down.

I don't think they 'get it'.  They probably think they're doing everyone a service by showing how or why someone's book or blog or ministry is wrong.  They criticize what they write, what they say, how they live and everything else in between to make their point and get people to stop reading something or stop following someone.

Aren't we, as Christians, supposed to lift each other up, encourage one another and rejoice with each other?  What happened to that concept?

I'm not going to point fingers and say who I'm talking about.  All you have to do is pick something that you like, go online and you'll find countless Christians cutting it down.  I think the only thing that this may serve is having a different viewpoint on a particular subject, ministry or opinion.  But, outside of that, all it does is to show the world that we are NOT united; we don't love one another and we think we know it all and our way is best.

Most things, lately, that I've gone online to check out, have been negative and downright nasty.  Things that lift people up or touch them in a way nothing else could've at that time, are being put down and trashed for many, many reasons...the worst of which is 'they're not biblically correct'.  Because something isn't worded the exact way 'they' think, it needs to be taken off the market and trashed?  Even though the Lord has used it in countless people's live, including mine, to help, lift, and encourage them?

I watched the Passion of Christ last night since it's Holy Week.  As I was watching the soldiers mocking, spitting on and pummeling 'God in the flesh', I was thinking....'look at those idiots.  And Jesus isn't even doing anything to try and show them how wrong they are.  He's just looking at them.  I wonder what went through His mind while all that was really happening.  Was he offended?  Did He think indignantly, 'how can they do this to me'?'

Then I believe God gave me some insight.  No....He wasn't offended or hurt or indignant.  God's not surprised at the things we do.  He already knows how stupid we are, how arrogant we are....and He still loves us. He's not offended that the new movie Noah, isn't biblically correct.  He doesn't care that any movie this world puts out there that draws people to something biblical is even out there.  He doesn't care that someone's blog doesn't say a scripture perfect in the King James Version.  He doesn't care that someone prays over someone in a different way to get healed or set free.  He doesn't care that someone's thoughts they got from God don't go along with every single person's way of thinking. Why?

They're all being used to draw people to God.  That's the point.  We are all working for the same purpose...or at least, we're supposed to be.

Come on Christians!  Open your eyes to how the Devil is using you!  We as Christians are not immune to his deception.  Let's put a 'krick' in his plans and start praising God for how He uses each of us in so many people's lives and how there are many, many ways in which He does that.  And like the bible says in Luke 9:50...."do not stop him, for whoever is not against you is for you."
